Content and physical description
ContentCharlotte Martinů hopes that [Anna] Špačková will soon recover. She asks Karel Šebánek to take care of the greetings. ChM has never stated that the French translation of her book by [Jaromír] Špaček is wrong. Hopefully he will see AS in Brno and explain the whole misunderstanding. [Didier] Duclos was also invited to the Brno festival, so ChM will travel with him. She should hopefully get her visa from the embassy. He also hopes to meet [Jaroslav] Mihul at the event, as he will not have as much time to meet in Prague. He has to discuss with [Zdeněk] Pechold the performance of JULIETTA in London, which has been going on for four years. ChM asks KS to write to [Zdeněk] Zouhar and apologise to her for not informing him of her arrival in Brno. Her stay in Switzerland was successful, with a mass for Bohuslav Martinů and a visit to his tomb. At the Lucerne Festival, Pierre Fournier and his son [Jean-Pierre Fournier] performed SONATA No. 1. ChM returned the next day to the Musée de Cluny, where PARTITA was performed. PF also announced that ChM would perform CONCERT FOR VIOLONCELLO AND ORCHESTRA No. 1 with [Pierre] Boulez and the New York Philharmonic.
