ContentKarel Šebánek is delighted with the news about Bohuslav [Martinů]. [Jan] Hanuš called KS to say that the State Music Publishing House had received a letter from BM's lawyer asking for a final decision on the publication of BM's works. Four months after receiving this letter, it is now due to be dealt with. SNKL has decided to publish BM's works, starting with works in progress from 1949, i.e. the 6th QUARTET, SERENADS 1/4, RONDA, all in voices, so that the works are complete with the previously published scores. KS suggested the possibility of representing BM in commercial matters. As soon as KS knows what will be published and when, he will request an advance for them [to Polička]. KS also drew attention to the pending contract with Boosey and Hawkes, which has been with the Ministry for 3 years. KS is having the same difficulties at home as they are having in Polička. His mother and sister are still ill and there is the added worry of coal. She hopes that everything will turn around for the better.
