Content and physical description
ContentCharlotte Martinů agrees to publish MOTYLES AND RAJEK and also the previously unpublished choruses in the State Music Publishing House. But the publication of the CONCERT FOR PIANO AND ORCHESTRA No. 4 (INCANTATION) must wait. ChM didn't go to Wiesbaden and couldn't arrange it with Vatterle [Karl Vötterle], who was there and was very pleased with the premiere [of the work PLAY OF MARY], which was a great success. It's a great pity she couldn't be there, but she'll make up for it in the spring. Gros (?) was there. Bärenreiter Publishers will wait until the end of January for her reply. She immediately wrote to [Harry] Halbreich to ask his opinion. She is waiting for his reply, which will probably take a long time, as is his custom. As for Panton Publishing: Karel [Shebanek] can do what he thinks. ChM is still waiting for discs and folders from [Jan] Zrzavy and also three (copies of) JULIETTA. She is sad that Panton has not published the book by [Brian] Large. She still has no news about [Pierre] Vidal, which surprises her, as he always acts correctly. She telephoned HH before leaving for Paris but he had no news of PV. Maybe it's because of the baby he is expecting. She also called George Neveux but did not reach him. Probably because he is planning to play Juliette at the Opéra Comique. But it's in the stars when the performance will materialize. She understands that KS is not happy with Gros (?) regarding the realization of the second book, but he should nevertheless get to know her and find some way of working.KS saw [Ida] de Vries, who still has not received the libretto from GN with Bohuslav Martinů's notes. ChM thinks that the libretto was lost or kept somewhere by [Jarmil] Burghauser. KS also has to claim a shipment of discs from [Vojtěch] Strnad. ChM thanked him for his intervention in the matter of the claim for the discs and also for the second book. The addressee does not let ChM know the information about the stamping (?) of the International Festival in Brno. So I guess it is already closed with KS. This is not the second book Gros is looking for to publish in Paris, but the first, as the one by HH will be published in French in Prague by Palacký [Ladislav Dlouhý].
