Content and physical description
ContentKarel Šebánek responds to Charlotte Martinů's letters, the contents of which he and [Jaromír] Špáček also read. He advises ChM to ask at the American Express Company, where he will advise her more about the cheque, the function of which is unknown to KS and JS. KS received news from Cleveland that [Erich] Leinsdorf has the manuscript of the score of SYMPHONY No. 2. However, KS has not yet replied to the letter. Jan Novak told KS that he was busy and could not do the proofs of the Symphonies (SYMPHONY Nos. 2 and 3?) for Boosey & Hawkes. It is necessary for [David] Adams to arrange the proofs. JN promised to finish the opera (?) but needs to think about when and how he will work on the piece. Panton has received two copies of the declarations signed by ChM concerning the ORCHESTRAL SUITE FROM THE JULIETTE OPERA. They are in order. The Czech violinist with the surname Aloy is unknown to KS. He knows of the existence of a cellist named Aloys, but he lived in Russia and is now dead. In response to his telephone complaint, [Vojtěch] Strnad informed KS that the JULIETTY discs had been shipped to [Emmanuel] Bondeville's address in Paris and that he was therefore advertising them. He was angry that Panton had many contracts for works by Bohuslav Martinů. He will also speak to a representative of the Bärenreiter publishing house about the contract. KS spoke to him 15 days ago. He will tell ChM the outcome of the meeting. Mr Zavřel informed KS about the date of the International Music Festival in Brno. KS referred him directly to the organisers of the event. Mrs. Pospíšilová has not received a letter from ChM. KS will write to Mr. Schirmer about the manuscripts. (Jan?) Matějíček is already in Prague. He was with his wife in Paris for one week with (Jean?) Leduc.
