Content and physical description
ContentBohuslav Martinů received the magazine Tempo, where there is a polemic between [Mirko] Očadlík and [František] Barotš, which also concerns Karel Boleslav Jirák. BM can send him Tempo. [Václav] Talich and [Rudolf] Firkušný are "ousted" together with other composers. Does KBJ know anything about Jiří Dostál? They say [Jan] Löwenbach is in an asylum.
BM doesn't know what's going to happen to Melantrich or what's going on with [Karel] Šebánek. BM would like to get from Czechoslovak Radio at least copies of the pieces commissioned by the radio: VESELOHRA NA MOSTĚ, [HLAS LESA] and KYTICE. Since he will probably not be returning, he will place the tracks in America or Europe. What's the visa situation for KBJ? BM has no news from home, only his sister [Marie Martinu] wrote to him. They're obviously not expecting him at the Festival. How to help Talich? BM doesn't know if some initiative from him would be more likely to help Talich. What happened to [Ferdinand] Peroutka? The upset of the events has made BM a little worse, but he is better now.
