Content and physical description
ContentBohuslav Martinů asks Karel Novák if the package with coffee, cigarettes, etc. has arrived. BM sent it to the wrong address.
BM sent the article [1938-1945] to [František] Bartos and Stáň [Novák] the text "for the memorial". BM has no news from Prague, so he postpones his departure until spring. KN is to ask [Václav] Holzknecht how things are going with Martinů's employment at the conservatory, if there are "any hooks in it from a certain side". And what "college" means. Whether it is a "master school" or whether it would be teaching harmony and counterpoint. In that case, BM wouldn't be interested in the job and would be looking for something else. BM sent the LIDIC score to the Czech Philharmonic. BM wrote to F. Bartos asking [Rudolf] Firkušný to play Bořkovec rather than Martinů's CONCERT [FOR PIANO AND ORCHESTRA No. 2]. BM's editor is Boosey & Hawkes, but BM cannot get materials from them. What are the layouts of the performances compared to Sacher and the Double Concerto? BM also wrote to [Vaclav] Talich and was pleased to hear that the Czech Philharmonic stood up for him. BM already has news from home, but it seems that everyone [in the CSO] is in a bad way. They will send parcels as soon as they can, so far only small ones can be sent.
