Content and physical description
ContentBohuslav Martinů apologizes to Artur Rodźinski for not contacting him sooner because he had to deal with confusion about the performance of SYMPHONY No. 5. Ernest Ansermet needs an orchestral part by 7/1. BM will be performing in New York with Erich Leinsdorf in early March. It follows, therefore, that the only available times for a concert will be in February. In the event that preparations are not complete, BM asks AR if it would be possible to play SYMPHONY No. 3, now performed in Boston and New York by Charles Munch. Alternatively, BM then offers SYMPHONY No. 4, which is available in the Boosey & Hawkes edition at any time. BM hopes that AR has received the score of Symphony No. 5. He also thanks Karel Boleslav Jirák for his performance of CONCERTO GROSSO. He was very sorry that he was unable to attend but is still unable to make such a long journey. He hopes that he will be fully recovered in the spring as he would also like to go to Prague. BM is very happy that he was able to meet AR and his wife Halina.
