Content and physical description
ContentHe relates his deep impressions from the performance of POLNÍ MŠE, dir. Kubelík, the solo baritone Šrubař from the National Theatre, the radio choir, choirmaster Jiří Pinkas, the performance provoked "a rare enthusiastic and long-lasting ovation"; they were also happily surprised by the performance of the 2nd SYMPHONY, "a work so optimistically clear, healthy and immediate" and are curious about other works unknown to them, such as the 3rd and 4th. He is concerned about the case of Talich, who lives in constant nervous agitation and who will probably not conduct at this year's Prague Spring Festival; he is not surprised that BM has little desire to settle here for good; "good musicians have had hot ground here since Dvořák's time. And you are in the line of his followers", he hopes that BM will come soon anyway; he reports on the unsettled atmosphere in the cultural scene: the National Theatre, the 5 May Theatre, few listeners at the concerts of the ČF and the chamber society; he is optimistic, however; greetings to Löwenbach, Firkušný, Kovařík, Šafránek and others; no package has arrived yet.
