Content and physical description
ContentBoosey and Hawkes thank Dilia for her letter of September 12, 1955.
It is not true that B&H sent the score of JULIETTA to the theatre in Wiesbaden and thus prevented Dilia from producing the material. The score was sent to the theatre by Bohuslav Martinů and was his private property. The B&H did not own the score and sent the only piano lift they had to the theatre. They are investigating why the theatre has not yet performed the opera. From BM's statement they infer that one score and the complete material are in Czechoslovakia, possibly at the National Theatre. Perhaps Dilia could find out more.
B&H agree to a draft contract for mutual cooperation between the two publishers. The scores, piano excerpts and orchestral parts for GENEITY and WHAT PEOPLE LIVE are printed, and B&H will make them available to Dilia at any time. The material for MIRANDOLINA is not yet complete, but the piano lift is laid out and can be produced at any time. B&H is awaiting a decision from La Scala, Milan, by the end of October as to whether MIRANDOLINA will be premiered there. It will thus be completed in April or May 1956 at the earliest.
