ContentBohuslav Martinů asks the addressee about his agreement with Karel Vötterl concerning Dilia's cooperation with the publishing house Bärenreiter or Alkor-Edition [which by then was already part of the Bärenreiter group]. KV informed him only superficially.
BM quotes an extract from his contract with Bärenreiter for MIRANDOLINA. In it, Bärenreiter entrusted Dilia with the publishing and operating rights to the opera for the Czechoslovak Republic (including the planned premiere in Czech at the Prague Spring Festival) and for performances by Czechoslovak theatres abroad. Is the contract the result of the Prague negotiations?
BM still has no news from Dilia about royalties for JULIET. He asks about the royalty of Georges Neveux [author of the draft], who is not to be listed as librettist because BM is the author of the libretto. BM has given Neveux's address to Bärenreiter.
BM will need a contract to perform MIRANDOLINA with either Dilia or the National Theatre. Karel Šebánek may have informed Dilia that the opera THE VOICE OF THE WOODS is available. Czechoslovak Radio has the score.
BM asks for a quick reply to clarify his position on Dilia. Their cooperation has not yet led to more concrete results.
