Content and physical description
ContentKent Perry is working on a dissertation on Bohuslav Martinů's violin and piano sonatas and asks Karel Šolc for some answers. The Sonata in C major for violin and piano is said to be dedicated to KS and the manuscript is in KS's possession. SONATA in D MOLL for violin and piano is dedicated to KS and Stanislav Novák, the score is owned by KP. KP asks for a copy of the manuscript of SONATA in C DUR. He cannot wait for the forthcoming publication by Panton. KP asks for KS's opinion of [Harry] Halbreich's information that the Sonata in C major was inspired by a sonata by César Franck. KP requests KS's opinion on the patriotic character of the SONATA D MOLL. KP had this letter translated by Dr. [Rufolf?] Wierer, a classmate of Rudolf Firkušný.
