ContentAfter his return from Czechoslovakia [the premiere of his opera THE SOLDIER AND THE DANCER], Bohuslav Martinů discovered two letters from Elisabeth Sprague-Colidge. He is delighted with her invitation to attend the US premiere of THE SMITH QUINTET, performed by the Roth Quartet. BM, however, is unable to come as he does not have the funds. He hopes to be able to speak with the Roth Quartet before he leaves. BM would like to call attention to the premiere of RHAPSODIE, which will be performed by the Boston Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Sergei Koussevitzky, in November 1928.
