Content and physical description
ContentBM promised a sum of money for repatriation back to the homeland, but so far no return is possible. Bartos sent him a letter, BM does not understand what it is about and asks for an explanation. He believes that the letter refers to the planned premiere of SYMPHONY 5 at the Prague Spring Festival in 1947. He sends the score of 5. SYMFONIE, a copy of the Philharmonia [Czech Philharmonic] does not need to do, BM has the original score with him. However, the Philharmonic has to make orchestral material, BM describes instructions on how to make a copy using transparency paper and photographs. BM doubts that Karel Šebánek's idea of a printed edition will come to fruition, as there may be mistakes in the score and orchestral material and there is little time.Charlotte Martinů is going to France and will also come to Prague for the festival, perhaps staying with Anna Masaryk. If the orchestral material is produced, BM would like to have it available for the next season. [Charles] Munch wants to play CONCERTO GROSSO, and Karel Novák is to arrange to get two good pianists - Josef Páleníček and someone from the radio.
