Content and physical description
ContentBohuslav Martinů has sent them the DUO and the THREE SKETCHES and, at the same time, asked them for some copies of the score of the quartet, unfortunately he has not received any. The comic opera [THE SOLDIER AND THE DANCER] which he has just completed will soon be performed in Brno. He understands from the letter dated 22 February 1927 that because of many other things they are not interested in the piano score of this opera. They should let him know whether they want to print it, otherwise he must arrange things differently. He cannot send them the opera’s score immediately since he is now working on the piano score, and then he will have to send it forthwith to Brno. Yet their representative in Prague can look at it at J. Löwenbach’s. He asks them for some scores of the STRING QUARTET NO. 2 to be sent as soon as possible. He will only be staying in Paris until 10 July, afterwards they should write to him at his address in Polička. Koussevitzky is taking LA BAGARRE so as to perform it in Boston.
