ContentThe 1st shipment of Chaucer's books has arrived- BM has read them too, on the 2nd. batch is waiting; they are going to Nice in a month; Frank is going to his chateau in Vermont; he mentions a concert at Carnegie Hall; he is not gaining weight; he has no special news from home, his sister is staying with friends; he gets occasional phone calls from Prague about the production of his new opera [Mirandolina]; in Prague they are probably preparing for the next celebration of his upcoming 70th birthday; asks FJ if he has any of his sheet music or manuscripts with her- he can't find them and doesn't know where he left them; Firkušný was at the concert- he was thrilled and is going to Australia; BM is quiet now- no premieres or concerts; he has written a new thing for Bures- Mikes of the Mountains, apparently the whole cycle will be filmed, incl.
