Content and physical description
ContentBohuslav Martinů apologizes for the delay with his article on [SMITH] SEXTET. He was waiting to arrive in Nice to borrow a typewriter. In the end he was unable to do so, so he writes in his hand. He doesn't remember much about the composition, PS may find more detailed information in Miloš Šafránek's book. He only remembers the last movement where two violins play in an octave and it is very impressive. PS should eventually supplement the article with an analysis.
As soon as BM gets a typewriter, he will describe to the addressees how [he and Charlotte Martinů] spent their holidays. They didn't do too well, also because of the weather. BM sent Maja Sacher a book which he liked very much.
PS shouldn't worry about the tempi in SEXTET. The first movement is more of an Allegro [as in] CONCERT GROSS, not a very fast tempo.
He is confused about the receipt for the EPOS ON GILGAMES. No payment has come to him. He asks Sacher for an explanation.
[Appendix:]
BM's article on SEXTET for 2 violins, 2 violas and 2 cellos. BM gives the circumstances of the composition's composition and its fate. Asks Sacher to add the characteristics of the individual movements, as he does not have the score himself.
