ContentPaul Sacher thanks Bohuslav Martinů for his letter, the score and the piano excerpt for ARIADNE [? BM does not mention this opera in his previous letter and sends Sacher the score and piano extract for MIRANDOLINA, see Sac 1958-07-16] and for the list. He promises to give Ernst Mohr the DUO [FOR HOUSEL AND VIOLONCELLO No. 2].
PS would like to see the score of MIRANDOLINA. But wouldn't it be better for him to provide the score and piano extract to the Municipal Theatre of Basel right away with an offer of a world premiere? It would take them a long time just to study the work. PS will ask whether the theatre will be able to perform the opera in Italian or whether it will have to be translated into German.
When is BM coming to Schönenberg again? PS would like to discuss with him the tempi in the [SMITH] SEXTET. Could BM write an article about this piece for the Basel Chamber Orchestra newsletter?
