ContentPaul Sacher thanks Bohuslav Martinů for his letter. He is pleased that BM is working on an EPOS ON GILGAMES and is curious about the score. As far as the composition of the orchestra is concerned, BM does not have to limit itself.
It will be better if the work is premiered in its original language, i.e. English. Translation always requires changes in the musical texture and these cannot be made without collaboration with the composer.
PS is delighted that SYMPHONIC FANTASIES has been a success in America. Sacher's New York concert will take place in early April, and they will not travel to the US [with Maja Sacher] until mid-March.
