Content and physical description
ContentPaul Sacher thanks Bohuslav Martinů for his instructions for TRE RICERCARI [see Sac 1947-01-21].
The audience received the composition TOCCATA E DUE CANZONI very warmly [PS performed it with the Basel Chamber Orchestra on 21-01-1947]. PS himself considers it to be an exceptionally beautiful work, perhaps he will be able to perform it often again. He thanks the addressee for composing it for the BKO's 20th anniversary. He encloses a letter of criticism.
Will the part and score be printed? Who will publish the piece?
Has BM had the opportunity to hear a radio broadcast of the concert? Did he like Arthur Honegger's "Liturgical" symphony [No. 3]?
PS is wavering between TRE RICERCARI and CONCERTO GROSSO for the coming season. Which does BM prefer?
