Content and physical description
ContentPaul Sacher did not receive replies from Bohuslav Martinů to his letters of 7 December and 25 February.
He is curious what BM will tell him about the new piece he is planning for the concert [of the Basel Chamber Orchestra] on 21 February 1947 [TOCCATA E DUE CANZONI, concert on 21 January 1947]. PS would like to receive the score by the end of September.
PS has the score of THE KITCHEN REVUE, published by Leduc in Paris. Is this really an orchestral work and not a chamber work? PS had the impression on reading the score that the work was written for clarinet, bassoon, trumpet, violin, cello and piano and asks the addressee to clarify.
When does BM plan to return to Europe? PS also sends his regards to Charlotte Martinů.
