Content and physical description
ContentBohuslav Martinů sends the cycle of piano works “Par T.S.F. (Prague 348.9)”. (It concerns the THREE CZECH DANCES, which within the original intention to publish them M. designated with the title Par T.S.F. In 1928 he wrote a new small piano work bearing this title.) He would be pleased if they accepted it for publication. He regrets that they could not publish LA BAGARRE, but he is aware of the fact that printing scores is very expensive. He would also be pleased if they printed these piano works, since, in BM’s opinion, they are good and pianistic, and since he needs some piano pieces of his to be published. Czech publishers have only printed some of his minor pieces, with which he cannot promote himself. It is of the utmost importance for him to have more compositions for piano published, which he could easily distribute here and in Czechoslovakia among the best pianists who are waiting to perform his compositions; for instance, Jane Mortier will perform in March at a significant avant-garde concert at Paris’s Sorbonne. Others (Jean Wiener, Denyse Molié, Jan Heřman, Václav Štěpán, Karel Šolc) will immediately include them in their repertoire. He will send them the corrections of the score, as well as the individual parts of the quartet. He admires the beautiful printing of the score, it has greatly pleased him. They should not forget about noting down the first performance.
