Content and physical description
ContentBohuslav Martinů understands that Karel Šebánek is very busy, but he could have written at least a short report earlier, he and Ralph Hawkes are waiting for it. If Alén Diviš hadn't stormed him, he certainly wouldn't have got in touch! BM is not clear about the situation, he is said not to have replied to the Minister's letter regarding his finances. He explains that he did not receive any letter, and summarises what, how and where he did all the paperwork and writing. He is not hopeful about the payment of his money, but he will not sign any new contracts with Orbis without his salary. They should at least send him the money that was allowed for him in the summer. Antonín Čejka sent him a statement last January, but BM has made enquiries elsewhere in the meantime, so he knows that the bonuses were paid to them, and the amount involved, so he would expect at least some statement. AC has promised to take action against him at the National Bank. BM does not understand what KS means by the last paragraph regarding the Barclay material, nor does he know the conductor Kubraf [Rafael Kubelík?] BM explains how he understood the matter with the violinist Prokop. But otherwise he has no interest in it, so KS is to pass the material [CONCERT FOR VIOLIN AND ORCHESTRA No. 2] to RH. He is to ask Lilian Fuchs if anything from the performance of [CONCERTINA FOR PIANO AND ORCHESTRA] is valid; she is to negotiate it with RH herself in London. RH asks him to finish some paragraphs, but does not know what RH and KS have negotiated. He thanks Melantrich for writing a letter to AMP regarding his manuscripts. He hopes to get them back. KS is to send him the score of JULIETTE and what has been copied so far in a reliable way. He has received five scores of the violin concerto, they are wonderful. He forgot to put a dedication to Misha Elman.
