Content and physical description
ContentBohuslav Martinů writes shortly before the premiere of the CONCERT FOR SMITH QUARTET AND ORCHESTRA and asks Václav Talich to supervise the interpretation of the quartet by Ladislav Černý. He is working on a new opera [PLAYS ABOUT MARY] - arranges with VT how to promote the work at the National Theatre. He fears that the management will not want another work, since they have already staged his ballet [SPALICE] this season. He asks for various details about the opera's staging. He assesses the conditions in the National Theatre, against which an individual has no chance. Briefly introduces VT to the subject and treatment of the opera. Hopes Talich's article will provoke opponents - BM is entirely on his side. He gives his Paris address.
