ContentKarel Novák told him the content of the letter from Martinů, so JL answers his questions: 1. The premiere of the 5th Symphony would be welcome (in Prague), the ČF could pay him 50,000 CZK. But it depends on whether Elman comes and plays his concert. Both works would probably not pass... 2. JL has spoken to the Minister to expedite BM's appointment (as a professor). 3. BM is to call ASCAP to say that OSA has already sent them the requested certificate - the horror stories can be paid to him. 4. If necessary, JL would authorize his wife to give BM the necessary amount in New York, which BM would then return to him in the spring. He is interested in how BM is doing. He is to write him something about the 5th Symphony, he would like to publish it.
