Content and physical description
ContentBM already knew about everything Frank wrote to him last time from the newspapers. They were both sick. At the Academy he is not very busy, he is quiet and devotes himself to composition (opera, 2 cycles of male choruses - The Robber Songs). He still has problems with his hand. In Rome they played him a quartet with oboe (ensemble from Detmold), he had a great success. He has no news of Rudo. The Philharmonic is supposedly coming to Italy and Szell is supposedly coming to Prague again with the Cleveland Orchestra. He wonders if the Symphonic Fantasies discs have been released yet. They're all sick at home. There's a lot of interest in opera (Karajan, Scala, London...)
