Content and physical description
ContentThey thank him for his letter, which, however, did not include a signed copy of the contract on his piano pieces [LES RITOURNELLES and ESCQUISSES DE DANSES]. They kindly ask him to send it to them. In the event that it has been mislaid, they will send him another contract to sign. As for the CONCERTO FOR VLC AND ORCH. NO. 1, they regret that Gaspar Cassadó is not considered as the soloist for the Paris performance and think that he will be hard pressed to find a better cellist, since after a successful performance in Paris he can continue to play it abroad. GC is ill, yet he has already studied the concerto, and then he may not play it any more. He sends the cello concerto’s piano score and the quartet’s score to Walter Straram. The orchestral score must be in his possession. They will send it to him in Prague. He also sends a copy of the concerto to Diran Alexanian and him. In Antwerp, the PARTITA, danced by Mme Korty, was a great success and he hopes that they will be engaged with the ballet for the summer in Paris. Does he think that it would be possible to engage Mme Korty with three dances at a guest appearance in Prague? The costs certainly would not be high, and it has been written that the piece has had a very good response on the part of the audience. Given that she has already danced it, a guest appearance in Prague would undoubtedly be cheap.
