Content and physical description
ContentBohuslav Martinů thanks František Muzik for the news. He thought of [Václav] Talich before he started writing [PLAYS ABOUT MARY], but he doesn't know if VT will have time for it, he still has commitments in Stockholm and with the Czech Philharmonic. BM would have nothing against [Josef] Charvát, ŠPALÍČEK did well and is a sensitive musician. [Antonín] Balatka would not be ideal as a conductor, because he cannot be in Prague often and it would jeopardise the number of performances. BM does not want to work with [Ferdinand] Pujman, he is afraid of his ideas. BM arrives long before the premiere and sees to it that everything works out as well as possible. BM asks FM to modify Sister Pascalina's scene and explains why. BM asks FM to write to him when he knows the date of the premiere. The theatre writes to him that it will not be until 15 January [1936], but the theatre reports a premiere in December. BM wants to plan his arrival so that he can be in Prague at least three weeks before the premiere. FM is to inquire about V's engagement. Talich with Stanislav Novák.
