ContentBohuslav Martinů will soon finish their ballet [THE JUDGEMENT OF PARIS]. He is starting to work on the dance of Venus with Paris and hopes to finish everything in 15 days. He describes the structure of the ballet. Martinů asks Boris Kochno what he should do about the score; he has not received a reply to his previous letter, and Mr [Wassily de] Basil has not sent him the contract, nor the score of the ballet THE CHAP-BOOK, which he badly needs, nor even a deposit, which would make it much easier to work in the heat reaching 33 degrees in the shade. At the same time, he had other work to do, which made him a little nervous. Since he doesn't have a contract, he doesn't know when he will get his fee or how much he should actually get. He asks BK to send him their position on the work in addition to this information. He would like to go to the country for a while, he may even have to go to Czechoslovakia, so he would like to know where he stands and what to do with the manuscript. He also doesn't know the exact size of the small orchestra they will need for the small theatre.
