ContentThe director of the Burgtheater Wien sends the quoted excerpt from a letter from Martin Eisler from Buenos Aires [Secretary General of the "Amigos de la Musica"] : "I now ask you to have the following scores sent to me immediately by airmail from the USA so that Ljerko Spiller can study them immediately". [Martinů's works mentioned are] DOUBLE CONCERTO and CONCERTO GROSSO. The Burgtheater Wien directorate wants to know if Universal Edition has these works and can send them for inspection.
NoteAddressed to [Alfred] Schlee. Received on 9.12.1948; Answered on 30.12.1948. In the transcription of the letter, the recipient and sender are listed incorrectly (reversed).
