Content and physical description
ContentCharlotte Martinů would like to see a portrait of Bohuslav Martinů, who has a brother Vladimír Vaňek. She therefore asks VV for his address. She is going to Prague on 2 March for the OPENING OF THE STUDIOS at the National Theatre, there will be a ballet and choir. Before that he is going to Mannheim, where the world premiere of the buffa ALEXANDER BIS will be held. Then the opera will be performed in Brno. It will also go to Prague as usual for the [Prague Spring] festival in May/June.
She travels a lot and performs BM music - the only consolation she has left. In the 1964-1965 season, Rudolf Firkušný plays CONCERT No. 3 in New York under the direction of Josef Krips. She saw RF at the Lucerne Festival, returning from Czechoslovakia where he finally met his mother. RF also played with the Czech Philharmonic in Salzburg under George Szell.
