Content and physical description
ContentBohuslav Martinů writes to Vladimír Vaňek that they have also heard the comedy [VESELOHRU NA MOSTĚ] on the radio. They sang wonderfully, especially Cinderella. He is happy that spring has come and he can walk in the woods without a heavy overcoat. He has finished another piece on a poem by [Miloslav] Bures, thus ending the cycle from the Highlands [MIKE FROM THE MOUNTAINS]. Besides that, he also produced a vision for six instruments, among which is a harp [CHAMBER MUSIC No. 1] intended for a festival somewhere near the devil in Braunschweig, where he was invited for November. BM is now looking for another plot to use his remaining energy. At the end of the month they will go to Nice again, presumably to the old address 17 bis Bould Most Boron. BM will write more before then. [to Jan M.] Kolar has a novel out, it's very good, the newspapers said he had an offer from Hollywood, and now he's in Paris. BM thinks of VV as he is in the hustle and bustle of construction work [Vanek was apparently involved in the preparation of the new Swedish Embassy building in Rome].
