Content and physical description
ContentThey received another letter from Bohuslav Martinů, written shortly before his departure, asking for a breakdown of JULIETTA. They understand, according to Karel Šebánek's report to his brother [František Martinů], that this will not be possible, but at BM's request he asks. BM writes as if he doesn't know what the situation is like here. He asks if KS could check with Václav Talich where to get funds for the breakdown. He says he's not in a hurry because it's always a long shot with theatre, but he wants to get it started, doesn't want to send anyone a manuscript in uncertain times.
BM also sends his regards to Mr. Talich and [Stanislav and Karel] Novak. He also wishes his DOUBLE CONCERTO to be played in Prague; Marie Martinů marvels that he would like it "right now". BM writes that the Philharmonic may ask Mr Sachs to lend him the score. They thank KS for taking care of BM's things; if money cannot be found elsewhere, the family will pay from what remains of KS's known sum. BM has also written about manuscripts at "Melantrich" which KS would prefer to keep. She received a letter from Mr. Valenta accepting representation with OSA, if KS would help to obtain the manuscripts, he will send it. She asks if KS has any news on "Stan".
