Content and physical description
ContentVítězslava Kaprálová describes her daily schedule, in which she now has four times a week from 3:30 to 5:30 (up to five hours) with Bohuslav Martinů (on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays). He gives a schedule of the concert they are rehearsing and critiques Monday's concert at Triton. She also attended an interesting lecture by [František?] Kupka on the young French intelligentsia. She wrote to the Women's Council. Next year BM would like VK to conduct [TRE] RICERCARI at Triton, which he is working on. Something by VK could be performed at the same time. Yesterday [18 Feb] VK composed a Love Carol based on BM's draft of the Love Carol which appeared in Eve. VK claimed she would write a better one than BM's lacking melody. BM really likes her carol, he played it all afternoon yesterday. VK is thinking of giving it as a wedding present to Renata [Helfert-Trtílková], but she has to ask BM's permission because she used his melody in it. On Monday she will send them both the Carol and the Bells [Variations on the Bells of St-Etienne-du-Mont Church] to sample, but they are due back soon so she can work on [their] publication. BM wanted to correct them for her, but VK resisted. She and Martine will apply for a scholarship for next year, which she is very keen on. [Alois] Hába still asks her to analyze [the Military Symphony]. She will send her new photographs on Monday.
