Content and physical description
ContentDilia writes to the National Theatre that they regret to receive their letter of 9 June 1969 [ID 6980], returning the draft contract for the operation of the ballets Odysseus' Wanderings and VZPOURA of 21 May 1969 and asking for a review of the royalties. Dilia writes that royalties in excess of 10% are not uncommon, particularly when multiple challenging works by foreign composers are combined for a single performance. Dilia recalls the National Theatre's letter of 29.2.1969, which showed the high demands made by Bärenreiter for the performance of Helmut Eder's The Wanderings of Ulysses. As far as Bohuslav Martinů's ballet VZPOURA is concerned, a 4% royalty is the usual and minimum valuation of a work. In conclusion, Dilia asks that they reconsider the draft contract and accept it without change. They need to take into account that only such claims as arise from contractual obligations with foreign rights holders are made in it and cannot be adjusted in favour of the National Theatre.
