ContentThis is a convention/agreement between Melantrich and the National Theatre in Prague regarding Bohuslav Martinů's THE SPALICE. Melantrich undertakes to lend the National Theatre the performance material of the work. The National Theatre will not use this material for performances outside the National Theatre or the Grand Opera House and may not lend, sell, copy or have copied. The National Theatre further undertakes not to perform the work by radio without the permission of the publisher. The period of loan is fixed from 1 March 1949 to 31 December 1949. If the National Theatre continues to use the operating material in 1950, it will pay an additional 2 250,- for each half-year. In case of damage or incomplete return, the publisher has the right to charge this. The National Theatre is obliged to carry out the work with all due care without any cuts or additions. The rental fee is set at 4,500,- and is payable upon signing the contract. Royalties will be 8% of the gross receipts of each performance, payable by the tenth of the month for the preceding month. Melantrich requires two free tickets on the ground floor for each performance of the work.
