ContentBohuslav Martinů thanks the President of the Republic [Tomáš Masaryk] for the news of the financial support, but at the same time asks for the full amount to be paid at once, as this is the only way to help him continue his work. He promises himself much from his work for the Russian Ballet [PARID'S COURT] and also hopes to get some income at the beginning of the season, including from the performance of the opera [PLAY OF MARY] in Prague. BM asks if he should submit a request to the President's Office for payment of the allowance at once, or if JS would talk to [Henry] Riha. The past year has been very difficult for BM, to the point where he has lost some confidence in himself. He hopes that he will have the strength to see his goals through.
