Content and physical description
ContentThe letter acknowledges receipt of Bohuslav Martinů's previous letter of 29 August and informs that, according to a letter from the directorate of the Zemsky Theatre in Brno dated 30 August (no. 2508), a four-part piano extract and the first part of the score of the PLAY OF MARY were sent to the National Theatre. The remaining parts of the score will be sent within three weeks. The work will be studied as soon as all the material has been received. BM will then be advised of the decision to send the National Theatre a performance contract. The eventual running would be after March 15, 1935, so there is no reason to rush the articles he intends to use to indicate this in the Theatre Journal. If he sends them in October there will be plenty of time for them. The royalty for the last performance of THE SPALIK will be disposed of according to BM's voucher. As for Vanya Psota's performance in BM's work, the directorate will discuss this tentatively and without commitment in mid-September when she travels through Prague. He is therefore requested to visit them on that occasion.
