Dear Mr. Stein,

Thank you for your letter of 13th February and the solo parts of Martinu’s “Sinfonia concertante”. I hope to receive the two scores of the work very soon.

On April 4th I shall conduct Strawinsky’s “Persephone” in Vienna an on 29th April in Cologne. Could I have the same orchestra material which we used for our performance in Basle? If it is in Switzerland, I should like to take it with me for both concerts and bring it back,so that there is no danger of loss. Could you please let me know if this will be possible.

In case you already dispatched  the material to Vienna and Cologne, I should like to know whether it is an entirely new one or if it has been used for former performances.

I do not get the magazine “Opera” regularly but have seen several numbers which I read with much interest.

I hear from Anthony Gishford that we shall meet at his house after Easter. I am looking forward to it and remain

                                                                                                              yours sicerely
