Dear Mr. Sacher,

               Thank you very much indeed for your letter of March 17^th, with the enclosed press cuttings. I do not know who H.v.L. is, but I am trying to find out. I think this article is a shame.

               I understand a photostat score of the SINFONIA CONCERTANTE by Martinu has been ordered for you from America, but this has not arrived yet. We are writing again to New York. In the meantime I had better keep the one score which we have until I get Martinu’s correctios.

               There was a hold-up in the printing of PERSEPHONE because of some technical difficulties (the engraving was done in Paris but the printing is being done here). My latest information is that it will be 6 or 8 weeks before we can have anything printed, even unbound.  I am frightfully sorry to have to disappoint you. I do not suppose you can wait so long – I do not remember the date of your performance. Please let me know.

               The book of PERSEPHONE by Andre Gide, published by Editions Gallimard of Paris, is out of print and no copies are available, so our Paris house informs me.

               Ben’s SPRING SYMPHONY was a huge success in London, although it is true that the performance was not quite as good as the one in Amsterdam.

               Last Sunday there was a broadcast of Martinu’s SINFONIETTA GIOCOSA. This is a very pleasant work indeed. Do you know it?
