Přepis dopisu | Ref. ES/JP
20th February, 1950.
Mr. Paul Sacher,
Schoenenberg,
Pratteln, Basle.
Dear Mr. Sacher,
Thank you very much for your letters of 10th and 13th February. In the meantime I received a letter from our Paris house and it appears there was some misunderstanding, probably a confusion with the “Sinfonia Giocosa”. I sent a copy of the first few bars of the SINFONIA CONCERTANTE to Paris and the people saw M. Straram, but he could not trace a performance of the work. I am glad to say, therefore, that everything is in order and we shall keep the SINFONIA CONCERTANTE for your concert on December 8th.
The material is now being prepared and the score is with the copyists, but I shall sent you the score very soon, probably next week.
As for PERSEPHONE, I understand from the printers that it will still take a few weeks before the printing is finished and a rough, unbound copy will be available. As I do not know whether you can wait so long, I am writing to Paris to send you the MS which has been used for engraving.
Looking through our correspondence, I see that you once inquired about a full score of APOLLON MUSAGETE. Has this score been sent to you? If not, will you please let me know.
With kind regards,
Yours sincerely,
[podpis]
ERWIN STEIN.
