10th February 1950
Dear Mr. Stein,
Thank you for your letter of 27th January. Meanwhile I hear from Martinu that he does not believe the creation of his Sinfonia concertante to have taken place in Paris. He thinks there must probably be a confusion with his “Sinfonia giocosa”. He never showed the score of the “Sinfonia concertante” to anybody but to Kubelik, who must till be in possession of one copy. Nevertheless you had perhaps better ask for precise information from Paris.
Martinu agrees to my giving the Creation of the “Sinfonia concertante” on 8th December 1950 in Basle. Will you please let me have a copy of the score.
In spite of your amiable intervention I have not received a newly printed score of Strawinsky’s “Perspephone” yet. Would you be so kind as to remind the person concerned of it. I do not mind having it in loose sheets. I can have it bound here as well. The earlier I get it the better it is.
Thanking you in anticipation, I remain
your sincerely
Dr. Erwin Stein Esq.
