Content and physical description
ContentBohuslav Martinů thanks Georges Neveux for his letter. He sends him the programme. With the [Wiesbaden] theatre, you never know. BM is glad that GN wants to go to Wiesbaden [for the performance of JULIETTA]; he asks the theatre for dates and tells Neveux. For GN must see this performance; he will surely be horrified by it.
The idea of promoting the opera in Paris is excellent. BM hopes Neveux's friend will be on the committee and help him. Inviting [the troupe from] Wiesbaden is also a great idea. There will be a lot of competition in Paris, but the GN should do its best and inform BM of the chances. It would be a huge success in Paris. BM would possibly take care of the French translation.
They [with Charlotte Martin] would like to see JULIET again, maybe they could all meet in Wiesbaden in March. GN could invite his influential friend and he would certainly do everything for a Parisian performance of JULIETTA, so they would meet again in Paris.
BM apologizes for not announcing the premiere more emphatically to Neveux. He himself was rather uncertain after all the information noise. It looks like there will still be performances on 2, 5, 11 and 20 [March]. He asked the theatre to invite Neveux; GN's friends there promised him.
BM will keep Neveux informed regarding fees.
He is glad that GN was not frightened by his description of the performance, but he will be in Wiesbaden, they can talk about it there. The Prague and Wiesbaden versions of the opera are completely different.
