ContentVítězslava Kaprálová informs her parents about the rehearsals for the performance of CONCERT FOR CEMBALO AND SMALL ORCHESTRA B. Martinů [2. 6. 1938], which she is conducting. [Charles] Munch will probably come to see the concert after all. Alphonse Leduc accepted her Bells for publication [VK is probably wrong, as the contract was signed with La Siréne Musicale], while Josef Páleníček's sonata was rejected a year ago and the Concerto [FOR CEMBALO AND SMALL ORCHESTRA?] was postponed by BM. On Saturday [28 May 1938] she visited the consul and met many people. She also met Mr. and Mrs. Puc, who invited her "to a soirée" at which BM's SMITH QUARTET No. 4 and Kapralova's April Prelude will be performed. She was visiting Marcelle de Lacour. BM will also be going to London with Charlotte. VK asks if her father has sent her the score [of the Military Symphony] yet. Sends birthday wishes to Mum.
