ContentDilia informs Charlotte Martinů that their previous attempts to have the libretto of JULIETTA translated have been unsuccessful due to lack of material. According to the writer, the only solution would be to commission Georges Neveux to adapt the original text on which Bohuslav Martinů based the Czech libretto. The exact declamation of the French version would be checked by Vladimír Štěpánek, as a musical advisor and an excellent expert in French.
They would like to know ChM's position on this proposal so that they can possibly secure cooperation with the GN and the university and negotiate financial terms as soon as possible. They themselves consider this the only way to ensure a perfect translation of the work.
They would be grateful for an early reply.
