Content and physical description
ContentIt depicts the great joy and powerful experience of Exam 3. SYMFONIE with the ČF under the baton of K. Šejna; it is always a great feast for him to hear or play a BM composition; Šebánek gave him some of the compositions published in Melantrich; while listening to the 3rd SYMFONIE he remembered Dvořák's "Holoubek"; he informs about the death of V. Novák; disinterest in Suk's work, he was excluded from "this year's" Prague Spring because he is the author of "Under Blaník"; Š. became the son-in-law of composer Jarmil Burghauser, choirmaster of the National Theatre, who completed the opera "The Miser", the text based on Moliere was written for him by the director of the National Theatre Luděk Mandaus; Talich got an engagement in Bratislava from 1.9.; asks BM to contribute to the proceedings of the A. Dvořák Society on the 110th anniversary of his birth; admires the literary level of BM's article on V. Kapralová; is delighted with the piano lift of Juliette; asks whether BM has received Šebánek's new book; writes down his impressions of the rehearsal of the Third Symphony in manuscript: at times he is moved by the 'strange kinship with Smetana', he is interested in the symphony's emotional sources and 'what the double quotation from Dvořák's Requiem at the end means'.
