Content and physical description
ContentBohuslav Martinů recalls his visit to Basel. He asks Pavel Deutsch whether he has read the reviews [the premiere of DVOJKONCERT was on 9 February 1940], especially those in La Suisse and Volksblatt. If nothing changes before April, the idea of Paul Sacher conducting the work [DVOJKONCERT?] is being considered. PS also wishes BM to compose a cantata for mixed choir and orchestra [EPOS ON GILGAMES?]. The text will be in Latin, as the English translation would lose half its meaning. PS also invited BM for an extended visit. BM is still listed as a banned author in Prague. Václav Štěpán has to undergo surgery again. The embassy is not interested in the performance of [DVOJKONCERT] in Basel, so BM plans to write an article for a Czech newspaper. He asks PD for the periodical Dissonance and other critics.
