Content and physical description
ContentErnst Roth must have already informed Bohuslav Martinů of the Zurich negotiations between Boosey & Hawkes and Aria concerning the representation of his concert works. The writer gives basic information about Aria.
Dilia asks BM for material on JULIET. This has been sent to him from the National Theatre and BM writes to Dilia on 15 July 1954 that he has it in New York. Dilia needs it as a template for the material they have to send to B&H. BM could have the score insured and sent by air too.
According to Karel Šebánek of Melantrich, the composer's family has the only authentic score of ŠPALÍČK. KS pointed out that the work has been revised and shortened and that the score at the State Theatre in Brno is not up to date. Dilia asks BM to comment, there is interest in ŠPALÍČEK in Czech theatres and it is necessary to acquire material quickly.
Surely there will be an agreement with B&H soon. They need material there to start promoting both SPALÍČEK and JULIETTA (which they are asking Dilia for in particular).
