Content and physical description
ContentErnst Hartmann congratulates Charlotte Martinů on the success of the Greek PASSIONS in Linz. The critical responses in the press were positive, the sender sent some of them in newspaper clippings.
15,900 shillings was sent to Charlotte's account on 16 July. If ChM still has not received the amount, the payment can be claimed.
The publishers have no information as yet about the performance of the GREEK PASSIONS in Poland; it will probably be at most a radio broadcast from Brno, which, by the way, they have not been informed of either.
ChM is right that Strasbourg should show interest in performing GREEK PASSIONS. Universal Edition will send an extract of the critical response to the Strasbourg National Opera [Théâtre Municipal] (to Ernest Bour and Frédéric Adam). Critical reviews will also be sent to Georges Auric, who will have heard of the success of GREEK PASSIONS in Zurich.
As for the manuscripts [see letter ID 1427], the publishers will continue their search and will notify ChM as soon as the situation becomes clearer. The writer was very pleased to meet ChM in Linz.
