Content and physical description
ContentRobert Vannoy thanks Miloš Šafránek for the recordings of Bohuslav Martinů's compositions that MŠ sent him. RV also apologizes for the trouble he has caused the MŠ. RV is looking for three more recordings that have disappeared from the Supraphon catalogue (Foerster, Ostrčil, Smetana), the others can be obtained through Aria. RV has made inquiries of American orchestras, but it seems that no new recordings of Martinů are planned. RV would love to hear SYMPHONY #1 because of the influence Koussevitzky had on Martin's musical development. RV picked up the pocket scores of Martin's SYMPHONIES #4, #5, and #6 from Boosey & Hawkes. RV thanks the Tanglewood students for the list of Martins, RV will be interested in their music. RV will also research the topic of the Mannes School in New York. RV is grateful to Mrs. Belchik for her help. RV is familiar with Bruno Belchik and his performance of the 3rd Violin Concerto [composer not named] with Vaclav Neumann and the Prague Symphony Orchestra. RV will be happy to get in touch with Thomas [?]. RV has moved from Ashland to Medford and so did not receive Safranek's letter of 10.10.
