Content and physical description
ContentBohuslav Martinů is still waiting for news from Charlotte Martinů, he assumes she is in Paris and is looking for a boat ticket. He mentions that there is a Czech concert on 29 October where he will see [Jan] Masaryk. TRE RICERCARI will be on the program and BM regrets that ChM will not be present. Not much rehearsal before the concert, but the conductor [Franz Allers] is skilled and the [Colombian] orchestra is also. Informs ChM that strikes are over but everything is delayed. The ship America is leaving for Le Havre on 5 November, and [Jan] Löwenbach will also be on this ship. There was an article in the National Gazette about the BM accident. His condition after the accident is improving, but because of his stay in hospital BM does not know if his compositions will be performed.
BM mentions that [Paul] Sacher is happy with the composition [TOCCATA E DUE CANZONI] and asked him to leave the money with him in Switzerland. He hopes Raya Garbousova will perform the sonata [SONATA FOR VIOLONCELLO AND Clavier No. 1] when ChM arrives. He hopes that the Minister [Jaroslav Stránský] will tell him what they have done for ChM on the side of her arrival for BM.
